April is National Kid Safe Month

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, approximately 258,000 children are abducted annually. Over three-quarters of all abductions are committed by family members, and another 22.5 percent are committed by non-familial acquaintances of the child. While less than 1 percent of abductions are committed by strangers, this is still a primary fear many parents have. But there are tools you can give your child to aid in the prevention of such a tragedy.

Does your child know what to do if he or she is grabbed by a stranger? Do they understand basic self-defense techniques to break free, or how to alert others around them that he or she is in danger?

April is National Kid Safe Month, and Premier Martial Arts in Mint Hill is running a “Kid Safe” introductory course to teach these skills, and more. For $35 for the month of April, your child will learn safety training, stranger danger, kid safe self-defense, verbal boundaries, and sounding out from award-winning, championship-level instructors. Your child will also receive a free uniform, and attend lessons two days per week. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.
